Ever wanted to know what a real brig looks and feels like? Author S.R. Staley toured on at the Erie Maritime Museum in Erie, Pennsylvania to find out. You can find the "virtual tour" he put together here.

Pirate ships were usually smaller vessels--one masted boats like sloops or schooners. Most carried 8-10 cannon. Some were larger. That's where the 2-masted brig comes in--they were fast and could carry 15-20 cannon. Find our more about pirate ships and who used them here.
